Set on 38 acres in the Hunter Valley, Racecourse Lane Wines features a boutique, income-producing vineyard, a renovated residence, and views to the Brokenback Range, with options to sell grapes, continue the online wine business, and utilise the existing cellar door/tasting room.

Michael and Linda Cottan began their wine business after returning to Australia from many years travelling the world.
Michaels many roles in luxury hotels around the globe have created a passion for wine. The opportunity for Michael and Linda to visit most of the major vineyards of the world and meet some of the finest winemakers provided the inspiration to own a small boutique vineyard in the Hunter Valley.

Our vineyard is situated on 40 acres of rolling hills, with lovely views of the surrounding Pokolbin countryside.
We carefully tend to each vine to ensure the highest quality grapes. We, is in fact Michael and Linda ,who personally work the vineyard, thankfully under the guidance of master vitriculteralist Neil Stevens.

Our Four Cottans and a Vineyard Shiraz was created by James and his team at Oakvale Winery. We love their approach to making the wine naturally with minimal intervention. Using the same methods at Oakvale we have recently added our Fine Cottan Chardonnay.
Adrian the chief wine maker at Calais Wines has assisted us to produce our Sangiovese Rosé and Sparkling Rosé, exclusively from our Sangiovese grapes. We keep the wine dry with a lovely light pink colour and great Sangiovese flavour. Sangiovese Red was introduced this year also working with Adrian. A single vineyard wine of distinction. Recently we have also added a Reserve Shiraz, that we hae held in the barrels for nearly two years, to create a true Hunter Shiraz.
